After your loan documents have been prepared, signed, and returned, they will go into the funding process. This is when all of the documents signed are reviewed and a final quality check of all documents provided is completed. Once everything is deemed o.k., the investor will fund the loan.
The funding of the loan is when the monies your borrowed are giving to the escrow or closing attorney for disbursement. This is when the actual exchange of money is completed. This is completed usually through an electronic wire transfer.
The funding process will usually take 3-4 days after the loan documents have been returned to the mortgage lender.
